A juvenile boy was bitten by a shark whereas swimming off the coast of Key Largo, Florida, on Labor Day, officers mentioned.
The incident occurred round 3:24 p.m. on Monday, Monroe County Sheriff’s Workplace mentioned in Facebook post. The sufferer was airlifted by Trauma Star to Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami.
Officers notified the U.S. Coast Guard and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Fee in regards to the incident.

This assault marks the most recent in a collection of shark encounters within the Florida Keys area. Final July, a 37-year-old man survived a number of bites from a bull shark whereas spearfishing close to a reef off Key West.
