To the editor: How can holding a hearth chief answerable for poor decision-making result in a possible taxpayer-funded bonanza for her legal professionals (“Ousted L.A. fire chief claims Bass ran a misinformation campaign, defamed her to save herself,” Aug. 20)? The Los Angeles Times’ own investigative reporting uncovered the reality. She reportedly had “roughly 1,000 obtainable firefighters and dozens of water-carrying engines” that would and will have been pre-deployed. The fast response of those hearth crews and gear to identify fires might have made all of the distinction. The climate data supplied to the fireplace chief was her obligation to behave upon. To the editor: Crowley has a really legitimate declare in opposition to Mayor Karen Bass and the town. Bass should give Crowley her job again and keep away from a multimillion-dollar settlement.
