    About 3,200 Boeing jet and weapons workers begin strike

    About 3,200 union members at Boeing services in Michigan and Illinois went on strike at midnight on Monday after rejecting an contract supply from the corporate, the union mentioned.

    Native members of the Worldwide Affiliation of Machinists and Aerospace Employees, who construct and keep fighter jets, together with the F-15 and F/A-18 fashions, voted on Sunday to reject Boeing’s newest contract supply.

    The union members work at Boeing services in St. Loius and St. Charles, Missouri, together with Mascoutah, Illinois, in response to the union.

    That they had voted on July 27 to reject an earlier 4-year contract proposal put ahead by the corporate, the union mentioned.

    “We’re disillusioned our staff rejected a proposal that featured 40% common wage development and resolved their major subject on different work schedules,” Boeing mentioned in a statement on Sunday.

    Boeing added, “We’re ready for a strike and have absolutely carried out our contingency plan to make sure our non-striking workforce can proceed supporting our prospects.”
