To the editor: Thanks for overlaying a few of the ongoing issues with parking within the metropolis (“Coins? Cards? Apps? The hell that is paying for parking in L.A.,” July 22). To keep away from the trouble of coping with a number of apps for small quantities, I at all times carry a roll of quarters in my automotive.

What the article missed are the issues with even studying many parking meters which have pale screens which are arduous to see, significantly in daylight, and others with such cloudy or vandalized display coverings that they will’t be learn.

The town must overhaul these pale, broken parking meters.

    Bob Ladendorf, Los Angeles

    ..

To the editor: It’s unreasonable to require somebody to put in an app or present bank card info on corroded parking meter screens which are continuously unreadable. Additionally it is unreasonable that somebody ought to should pay a $63 fine to park for 5 minutes in the event that they forgot to cost their cellphone or if their bank card fee didn’t undergo.

With the best way issues are going, I concern that subsequent a 911 app might be required for emergencies. If your home is on hearth, press 1; if you’re being attacked, press 2. You will have to attend for the possibility to press 63 in case your complete block smells like a gasoline pipeline leak.

    Ken Hense, Los Angeles
