    Quake strikes 136km east of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky in Russia’s far east, based on US Geological Survey.

    Tsunami alerts have been issued in a number of nations after a robust earthquake off the Russian coast, with waves of 3-4 metres reported in Russia’s far east.

    A tsunami measuring 3-4 metres excessive was recorded in elements of Russia’s Kamchatka area, the regional minister for emergency conditions mentioned early on Wednesday.

    The magnitude 8.7 earthquake struck 136km (85 miles) east of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky in Russia’s far east, based on the US Geological Survey.

    Japan’s meteorological company issued a tsunami advisory for the nation, warning of waves of as much as 1 metre (3.3 toes) excessive.

    The Pacific Tsunami Warning Heart issued a direct “tsunami watch” for the state of Hawaii.

    The Hawaii County Civil Protection Company mentioned in a social media submit that the quake could also be robust sufficient to “generate harmful waves” in Hawaii.

    There have been no reviews of harm or casualties thus far.
