    US Osprey makes emergency landing in Japan, officials say

    TOKYO – -A U.S. CV-22 Osprey made what Japanese officers known as an emergency touchdown Thursday at Hanamaki Airport in northeastern Japan, about 300 miles north of Tokyo.

    Airport officers say the tilt-rotor plane touched down safely after reporting a mechanical challenge mid-flight. The U.S. Air Power stated the craft made a “precautionary touchdown” throughout a flight from Misawa Air Base to its house base, Yokota Air Base.

    No accidents had been reported. Operations for industrial flights continued as regular. Video from Japanese broadcaster NHK reveals the plane taxiing to the apron the place uniformed personnel might be seen on prime of the plane, close to the middle, inspecting the plane.

    Japan’s Protection Ministry says it has dispatched employees to the positioning and is in touch with U.S. forces.

    The touchdown got here six days after one other U.S. Osprey set down in Akita Prefecture for a security inspection, in keeping with Japanese officers. That plane remained on the bottom for over seven hours.

There have been no interruptions to airport operations,” Drenkhahn stated. “The plane is assigned to the 353rd Particular Operations Wing and was flying from Misawa Air Base to its house base, Yokota Air Base.

    He added, “No additional info presently. the security of our pilots and aircrew, in addition to the women and men of Japan is our foremost precedence.”
