    LOS ANGELES: Quick-spreading wildfires have compelled the evacuation of a part of the Grand Canyon, with the US Nationwide Park Service ordering guests and residents away from its northern rim.

    “As a result of advancing Dragon Bravo Fireplace inside Grand Canyon Nationwide Park, all North Rim residents at the moment are in ‘GO’ standing and will evacuate the North Rim instantly,” the Nationwide Park Service stated in an X publish on Friday afternoon (Jul 11).

    The Dragon Bravo Fireplace, which was sparked by lightning and has been burning since Jul 4, was 61ha in dimension Friday night and nil per cent contained, a US authorities incident report stated.

    Park Service employees had already cleared the North Rim, which is much less well-liked with vacationers than the South Rim, of some 500 guests late Thursday.
