TEHRAN: Iran’s supreme chief Ayatollah Ali Khamenei hailed on Thursday (Jun 26) his nation’s “victory” over Israel, in his first public assertion since a ceasefire ended 12 days of struggle earlier this week.

“I wish to congratulate the good Iranian nation … for its victory over the fallacious Zionist regime,” Khamenei mentioned in a written assertion carried by the official IRNA information company.

Khamenei mentioned that the USA had “gained nothing” from its assaults through the Islamic republic’s 12-day war with Israel that noticed nuclear websites hit.

In a press release revealed by state media, Khamenei mentioned the USA “engaged within the struggle immediately, satisfied that its refusal to intervene would result in the whole destruction of the Zionist regime”.

“It has gained nothing from this struggle,” Khamenei mentioned of Washington, including that “the Islamic republic gained, and in retaliation dealt a extreme slap to the face of America”.
