To the editor: Lastly, excellent news among the many stream of doom and gloom protection of what’s occurring in Los Angeles (“With a surging residency rate, this neighborhood is transforming L.A.,” June 17). The comeback of downtown Los Angeles is not any shock to me, an 87-year-old who has lived in DTLA for 10 years. I moved downtown to be inside strolling distance of the most important arts, cultural and sports activities venues that I like. Not solely may I ditch my automobile, however I’d be dwelling in a various neighborhood stuffed with millennials and their canine together with expats of all ages.

That lure of downtown remains to be alive and kicking at present because it attracts new residents regardless of troublesome occasions. The resiliency of downtown was demonstrated within the aftermath of the devastating pandemic which, I consider, was a think about fostering the comeback. That resiliency stays at play at present because the downtown neighborhood works with public officers to assist advance options to the most important challenges besetting our neighborhood and people throughout the town. Could the excellent news proceed.

    Billie Greer, Los Angeles
