To the editor: In 2022, the Los Angeles Instances published several articles a couple of rich actual property household who, for a few years, had been accused of profiting from 1000’s of weak low-income tenants at their greater than 22,000 SoCal rental areas. The Nijjar household reportedly let vermin infestation, mildew, overflowing sewage — filth — be a part of the on a regular basis lifetime of their poor tenants and younger youngsters. The 2022 articles pointed to lax accountability by our county officers for permitting this injustice to people to proceed.

From this new story, it seems lax accountability stays the operative phrase (“State sues SoCal real estate tycoon, alleging widespread tenant exploitation,” June 12).

Maybe we are able to hope that California Atty. Gen. Rob Bonta’s belated lawsuit in opposition to tycoon Mike Nijjar will lastly carry some justice.
