    HANOI: America and Vietnam have concluded a second spherical of commerce negotiations on tariffs and agreed to proceed the talks to deal with unresolved points, Vietnam’s commerce ministry stated in an announcement on Thursday (Could 22).

    The second round of talks befell in Washington on Could 19-22 involving Vietnam’s Commerce Minister Nguyen Hong Dien and the US Commerce Consultant Jamieson Greer, the Vietnamese ministry stated on its web site exhibiting photos of conferences.

    “On the finish of the negotiation spherical, Vietnam and the US made constructive progress, figuring out teams of points on which consensus was shut, and teams of points that wanted additional dialogue to succeed in consensus within the coming time,” the assertion stated, with out elaborating.

    It famous that talks might want to proceed in early June.

    The US Commerce Consultant didn’t instantly reply to a request for remark outdoors of US enterprise hours.

    Vietnam closely depends on exports to the US and faces one of many highest “reciprocal” tariff charges set by the White Home at 46 per cent.

    These duties have been paused globally by Washington till July.
