To the editor: I agree with columnist Jonah Goldberg (“The inescapable answer to America’s problems? Fix Congress,” Might 13). The one rightful treatment for the debacle that President Trump has created should come from members of Congress. Degree-headed Democrats and Republicans have the facility to proper the ship earlier than democracy capsizes. However many Republicans received’t do it out of worry for his or her political lives. So, the one different repair is within the palms of we the folks on the poll field. Make them pay for his or her cowardice.

    Barbara Jackson, Cerritos

    ..

To the editor: Goldberg’s factors a couple of dysfunctional Congress are fairly legitimate. However fixing that downside requires eliminating gerrymandering of congressional districts. Let the voters select their representatives as a substitute of the representatives selecting their voters. Then we will deal with the problem of cash in politics by eliminating limitless marketing campaign contributions and calling that free speech. When we now have a very consultant Congress, then we would have one which works as designed.
