Letters to the Editor: Treatment of Kilmar Abrego Garcia is objectionable even if he isn’t innocent

To the editor: Columnist Jonah Goldberg is true in that the difficulty is due course of and never whether or not Kilmar Abrego Garcia is harmless or responsible, and that this argument is “silly” (“Is Kilmar Abrego Garcia a criminal? Great question,” April 22). However Goldberg makes his personal “silly” argument when he says, “by insisting that he’s an harmless man, Democrats are implying that if he weren’t harmless, what the Trump administration has carried out to him can be unobjectionable.” I, and I’ll exit on a limb and embrace fellow Democrats, am implying nothing of the type whereas Goldberg is inferring one thing with out foundation.

    Jeffrey Teets, Lakewood

    ..

To the editor: Is Kilmar Abrego Garcia a felony? He hasn’t been charged with against the law, not to mention convicted. Nor, opposite to false assertions by President Trump and the Division of Homeland Safety, has he been proven to be a member of a violent gang.

Given this, far higher questions are: Why did the U.S. ship Abrego Garcia to a infamous jail? And why has the Trump administration not even tried — in open defiance of a Supreme Courtroom order — to behave decently and facilitate his launch?

    David Michels, Encino

    ..

To the editor: Jonah Goldberg’s article on Kilmar Abrego Garcia hits all the fitting notes; this individual is harmless till confirmed responsible. Trump, then again, pardoned almost 1,600 insurrectionists, most of whom have been both discovered or pleaded responsible. They’re those who dedicated heinous crimes towards our rule of legislation and have been rightfully convicted.

    Anastacio Vigil, Santa Monica
