The latest feather in tennis legend Serena Williams’ cap

Even with all of the strides made by ladies’s sports activities, the gender pay hole is one way or the other widening.

The 2025 Sportico top 100 highest-paid athletes list didn’t embrace any ladies, with Coco Gauff lacking out on the $37.5M cutoff to interrupt into the highest 100. Equally, in 2024, no ladies made the top-100 record.

That wasn’t the case when Serena Williams was working roughshod over the tennis world. The American icon made the highest 50 record yearly from 2010 to 2018 and remained within the high 100 in 2021 and 2022, regardless of getting into only a few tournaments.

One in every of a form

We now have extra proof that crowns Williams as a real oddity in a male-dominating sporting world.

Sportico’s new record of the 50 highest-paid athletes of all time has Williams standing tall as the only real lady, coming in at No. 40 forward of legends akin to Kevin Garnett, Evander Holyfield and Andre Agassi.
