LONDON — An Iranian delegation has arrived in Oman’s capital, Muscat, to meet with U.S. officials for “oblique talks” about Tehran’s nuclear program, Iranian state-owned information company IRIB reported on Saturday.

President Donald Trump previewed the Saturday talks earlier within the week, describing them as a “very big meeting” that was a part of an ongoing dialogue.

This handout image supplied by the Iranian Ministry of Overseas Affairs reveals Iran’s Overseas Minister Abbas Araghchi (L) assembly with Oman’s Overseas Minister Sayyid Badr al-Busaidi in Muscat on April 12, 2025.

“And hopefully these talks will likely be profitable,” he mentioned on the White Home on Monday. “And I believe it could be in Iran’s greatest pursuits if they’re profitable.”

Tehran final month rejected a U.S. supply for direct negotiations. Seyed Abbas Araghchi, Iran’s international minister, described Saturday’s assembly as “as a lot a possibility as it’s a take a look at.” His ministry mentioned Iran was devoted to giving diplomacy an opportunity.

“We intend to evaluate the opposite facet’s intent & resolve this Saturday,” the ministry’s spokesperson, Esmaeil Baqaei, mentioned on social media on Friday. “We will mirror and reply accordingly.”

It is a growing story. Please verify again for updates.
