To the editor: As Democrats wrestle with whether or not to exchange Sen. Chuck Schumer as their Senate chief, why not draft Sen. Bernie Sanders to the occasion and elevate him to that place identical to the Republicans did with presidents Ronald Reagan and Donald Trump (“Trump and recent gains give the California Republican Party hope,” March 17)? When the Republicans elected each of them, the mainstream largely hated them however clearly each males succeeded in reworking their occasion and attracting hundreds of thousands of individuals.
