Bowling Inexperienced has employed a former Heisman Trophy winner as its new head coach.
Eddie George has agreed to a deal to develop into the brand new head coach at Bowling Inexperienced, the Toledo Blade reported on Sunday. George was one in all three finalists who interviewed for the job on Friday together with Oklahoma State quarterbacks coach Kevin Johns and UMass offensive coordinator Mike Bajakian.
George had been the top coach at FCS faculty Tennessee State the final 4 seasons. He went 9-13 in his first two years with this system after which led a turnaround. George led Tennessee State to the FCS playoffs this previous season and was named Coach of the Yr within the Massive South-OVC.
The 51-year-old George will inherit a Bowling Inexperienced staff that went 7-6 every of the final two seasons below Scot Loeffler. The Falcons have misplaced three consecutive bowl video games.
George is best known for being a former Heisman Trophy winner and star NFL operating again. He spent nearly all of his NFL profession with the Tennessee Titans and made the Professional Bowl 4 occasions. George had seven 1,000-yard speeding seasons in his 9 years within the NFL. He stays the Titans’ all-time main rusher with 10,009 profession speeding yards.
A former star at Ohio State, George received the Heisman in 1995. He was inducted into the School Soccer Corridor of Fame in 2011.
George acquired consideration for one NFL head coach job this offseason, and it looks like his final purpose is to teach on the skilled stage. The Bowling Inexperienced job is one other logical stepping stone.
