WASHINGTON: President Donald Trump will take into account restoring help to Ukraine if peace talks are organized and confidence-building measures are taken, White Home nationwide safety adviser Mike Waltz stated on Wednesday (Mar 5).

Trump halted military aid to Ukraine on Monday, his newest transfer to reconfigure US coverage and undertake a extra conciliatory stance towards Russia. Trump stated on Tuesday evening he had acquired a letter from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy that expressed willingness to come back to the negotiating desk.

Waltz stated the letter was a “good, constructive first step”. Officers had been in discussions over a date, location and negotiating workforce that may result in an finish to the battle, he stated.

“We’re already speaking about confidence-building measures that we’ll then take to the Russians and take a look at that aspect,” he stated in an interview with the “Fox & Buddies” programme.

Waltz didn’t say what the confidence-building measures can be.
