WASHINGTON: EU commerce chief Maros Sefcovic mentioned Thursday (Feb 28) that reciprocity in tariffs must be made to work for each the bloc and Washington, after talks along with his counterparts in US President Donald Trump’s administration.

“We might be able to look (at) how we will decrease the import duties for all industrial merchandise,” he mentioned, a day after assembly Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick and US Commerce Consultant nominee Jamieson Greer.

Trump has taken goal on the EU and others over commerce, asserting plans for sweeping duties tailor-made to every US buying and selling accomplice, and bearing in mind non-tariff elements.

However Sefcovic harassed after his four-hour assembly with commerce counterparts that if Washington had been searching for reciprocity, “it should work for each” sides.
