    Newly launched dashcam footage reveals the deadly police capturing of 42-year-old Matthew Huttle, a not too long ago pardoned participant within the Capitol occasion.

    The incident occurred on January 26, 2025, in Jasper County, Indiana, simply days after President Donald Trump issued a blanket pardon to over 1,500 people concerned within the 2021 protest.

    The footage, made public by the Jasper County Sheriff’s Workplace, begins with a deputy initiating a visitors cease on Huttle’s gold minivan for rushing—70 mph in a 55 mph zone.

    Upon method, Huttle instantly identifies himself as a January 6 defendant awaiting a pardon.

    Visibly distressed, Huttle pleads, “I can’t go to jail,” earlier than abruptly making an attempt to re-enter his car, in line with Indy Star.

    A battle ensues, throughout which Huttle declares, “I’m capturing myself.” The deputy, perceiving an imminent menace, discharges his firearm, fatally wounding Huttle.

    A subsequent search of the car uncovered a loaded 9 mm handgun and a considerable quantity of ammunition. The Clinton County Prosecutor’s Workplace has deemed the deputy’s use of lethal drive legally justified.
