To the editor: Appeasing Russian President Vladimir Putin is not going to make the world a safer place; it should do the other. (“Trump says he wants to end Russia’s war on Ukraine. But he’s acting like Putin’s wingman,” column, Feb. 24)

Along with the sacrifice of Ukraine, President Trump is probably going emboldening the Russian dictator to forged his proprietary eye over neighboring Poland, Moldova and different European international locations it considers in its sphere of affect. Are we to take a seat quietly and watch the reconstruction of the Soviet Union?

British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain tried appeasing Adolf Hitler in 1938, sacrificing the Sudetenland in Czechoslovakia to Germany to be able to win “peace in our time.” World Battle II was the results of his failure.

Robust American presidents don’t make offers with autocrats. The place is our Winston Churchill?

    ..

To the editor: Opposite to the message within the print version headline for Doyle McManus’ column, the U.S. is way from “turning its again on Ukraine.”

We’re looking for a constructive finish to the conflict whereas persevering with to help Ukraine militarily. This, regardless of all of our president’s heckling.

With all due respect, McManus seems sufficiently old to recollect our 1973 pullout from South Vietnam. That was abandonment, plain and easy. I served two years in that conflict.

    ..

To the editor: Nations voting towards the United Nations decision condemning Russia for the conflict in Ukraine included Russia, North Korea, Belarus — and us, america. Actually?

    Congress, please converse up.
