DUBAI: Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz ordered the military on Thursday (Feb 6) to organize a plan to permit the “voluntary departure” of residents from the Gaza strip, Israeli media reported.

The instruction adopted US President Donald Trump’s shock announcement that the United States plans to take over Gaza, resettle the Palestinians residing there and rework the territory into the “Riviera of the Center East”.

“I welcome President Trump’s daring plan, Gaza residents ought to be allowed the liberty to depart and to migrate, as is the norm around the globe,” Israel’s Channel 12 quoted Katz as saying.

When requested who will take within the Palestinians, Katz mentioned it ought to be nations who’ve opposed Israel’s army operations in Gaza.

“Nations like Spain, Eire, Norway, and others, which have levelled accusations and false claims towards Israel over its actions in Gaza, are legally obligated to permit any Gaza resident to enter their territories,” he mentioned.
