To the editor: I’d say Michigan dodged a bullet when Rep. Haley Stevens was not voted in because the “chosen one” within the U.S. Senate major in August (“El-Sayed’s primary opponent stuns Democrats by endorsing his Trump-backed rival for Senate in Michigan,” Nov. 1). Apparently, as a lady scorned, she offered her soul to the satan to again President Trump’s rubber-stamper, Mike Rogers.

It’s maybe not fairly as career-ending as Vivek Ramaswamy’s dastardly deed, utilizing his opponent’s estranged mom in an assault advert. However Stevens’ vindictive betrayal of her social gathering will stick and stink, like the underside of a shoe after a scorching day at a canine park.

To paraphrase a well-liked saying: “When the election is misplaced, slander turns into the device of the loser.”
