To the editor: Forgive me for being greater than somewhat skeptical of the federal allegation that some 20,000 Los Angeles County registered voters aren’t United States residents (“Big assertions, sharp exchanges, little clarity define DOJ election battle with California,” Oct. 17).
The feds made an analogous declare in August about 16,000 Nevada voters. They later lowered that quantity to 185 and Nevada officers subsequently verified that every one 185 have been authorized residents.
Because the Los Angeles Instances has documented, many federal legal circumstances towards native immigration protesters have proved meritless.
The federal Division of Justice as soon as had a sterling repute for integrity. Now, though I’m positive a few of its actions have stable authorized justification, the rebuttable presumption is that DOJ actions, not like voter registration rolls, are fraudulent.
