LONDON — A person sustained severe accidents Saturday after getting into the tiger enclosure at a wildlife park in northern England, police stated.
The incident occurred on the Yorkshire Wildlife Park close to town of Doncaster at about 1:35 p.m., South Yorkshire Police stated in a press release. The tigers remained contained in the enclosure and there was no hazard to the broader public, the power stated.
The Yorkshire Ambulance Service stated it dispatched two ambulances, an air ambulance and a health care provider to attend the scene. Authorities didn’t instantly launch details about the sufferer’s accidents.
“We’re working carefully with the authorities to establish precisely what occurred,’’ the wildlife park stated in a press release posted on its web site.
Yorkshire Wildlife Park started operations in 2009, with its “Land of the Tigers” attraction opening in 2011.
The attraction is a purpose-built two-acre reserve for endangered Amur tigers, also called Siberian tigers. The enclosure features a 300-meter (yard) raised walkway that enables guests to observe the massive cats roam by means of woodlands and grasslands or enjoying in a waterfall pool, the park says on its web site.
