    NEW DELHI: For Indian pilot Smit Machchhar, hailed as a hero for averting a crash of a flydubai jet certain for Israel, aviation was by no means a part of his childhood desires.

    Machchhar had his sights set on the household’s textile enterprise till the aviation bug bit on the age of 19, which scared his mom.

    Machchhar is recovering in a hospital in Saudi Arabia’s Tabuk, the place his flight was diverted on Wednesday (Sep 30) after the co-pilot reportedly stabbed him mid-air in an try to crash the airplane carrying 174 individuals, in accordance with Israeli officers.

    The Mumbai native was lined in blood on the cockpit ground when he managed to activate the discharge to open the cockpit door, in accordance with Israeli officers.
