5 persons are lifeless and 5 persons are injured after an Amazon Air cargo aircraft from Puerto Rico overran a runway at Miami Worldwide Airport, Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava stated in a information convention Sunday night.
The names of the deceased and the injured haven’t been launched.
The Nationwide Transportation Security Board stated Sunday it’s sending a crew, led by NTSB Chairwoman Jennifer Homendy, to research the incident, which happened Sunday afternoon.

Each the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and Amazon confirmed the incident in separate statements.
“21 Air Flight 7598 overran the runway after touchdown at Miami Worldwide Airport round 2 p.m. native time on Sunday, Sept. 6. The Boeing 767-300 cargo plane departed from Luis Munoz Marin Worldwide Airport in San Juan, Puerto Rico,” the FAA statement stated.
“We are able to verify that an Amazon Air aircraft operated by 21 Air skilled an incident whereas trying to land at Miami Worldwide Airport immediately,” Kelly Nantel, a spokesperson for Amazon, stated in an announcement, including that it was a “fast-moving scenario” and that Amazon was “working carefully with native authorities and officers to know precisely what occurred.”
“Proper now, our absolute precedence is the security, well-being, and care of everybody concerned. We’re doing every part we will to assist these affected,” the assertion added.
Preliminary information from Flightradar24 reveals the aircraft was going roughly 128 mph because it went off the runway.
A floor cease at Miami Worldwide Airport was lifted round three hours after the incident, with two of the 4 runways now reopened, in accordance with officers.
