To the editor: Towards the top of the article, there’s a sentence that mentions the disappearance of faculty busing and the shift to folks being accountable for transportation (“From rural routes to desegregation runs, yellow school bus history runs deep in America,” Sept. 1). That’s actually occurring. I discover it each time I cross by a faculty within the morning or afternoon and see dozens of vehicles idling in line to drop off or choose up the youngsters.

Whereas I notice that cash-strapped college districts gained’t be investing at school buses — particularly electrical buses — anytime quickly, it’s a disgrace to see what a large environmental step backward we’ve taken with the gradual disappearance of faculty busing.
