To the editor: Thanks, Gustavo Arellano, for calling out Catholics to comply with the best way of Jesus moderately than the best way of President Trump (“Why Catholics must take the lead to rebuke MAGA in the midterms,” Aug. 19). Jesus taught us by instance to like our neighbor, not hate them.
Whether or not it’s Canadians or Mexicans, our geographic neighbors should be welcomed. It’s time for Catholics and all individuals of goodwill to oppose the MAGA method of politically and economically punishing others. Our “oneness” is the unifying name I comply with day by day as I attempt to construct communities of affection and forgiveness at house and in my neighborhood.

To the editor: I’m so grateful to Arellano. His description of Trump was very concise, straightforward for anybody to know. Now when my Catholic pals inform me they don’t actually like Trump, however they like his insurance policies, I can retort with, “Trump is a strolling manifestation of the seven lethal sins.” What an apt description! Thanks once more for making it really easy.
