    Israeli strikes kill 18 in Gaza, minister says no deal to halt attacks

    CAIRO/JERUSALEM: Israeli airstrikes hit Gaza for a second straight day on Sunday (Aug 2), killing no less than 18 Palestinians, medics mentioned, regardless of US President Donald Trump’s announcement of a breakthrough in efforts to implement last year’s ceasefire agreement.

    From daybreak, Israeli warplanes hit Gaza Metropolis within the north, the central metropolis of Deir al-Balah and the southern space of Khan Younis, inflicting the largest every day loss of life toll in weeks, in keeping with Palestinian well being officers.

    “A very powerful concern for Israel is that nothing can occur earlier than Hamas fully and really disarms …,” Doron Spielman, a spokesperson for the Israeli prime minister’s workplace, mentioned.
