LONDON: London’s Gatwick Airport mentioned on Sunday (Jul 26) it was affected by “a water provide concern”, with bathrooms reported to be out of order and eating places closed at Britain’s second busiest air hub.
The problem impacting each terminals on the airport south of the capital – served by a number of no-frills carriers together with EasyJet – comes through the busy summer season vacation interval.
Flights weren’t reported to be affected, however passengers posted on-line that they have been unable to flush bathrooms, get scorching drinks, wash their palms or replenish water bottles.
“A water concern within the Horley space is inflicting disruption on the airport this morning,” Gatwick Airport mentioned on X.
“The issue is affecting water provide in each terminals and is presently below investigation.”
It added bottled water was being handed out to passengers and employees and “different contingency measures are being put in place to make sure the welfare of our passengers”.
Regional water supplier SES Water mentioned an influence outage at a close-by water remedy web site had induced “various issues” and that some clients have been “experiencing low water strain or a short lived lack of provide”.
The corporate mentioned it was working with Gatwick Airport “to revive regular service as rapidly as attainable”.
