To the editor: President Trump is shedding the warfare with Iran, however since he apparently by no means loses, he turns to the worst of himself: the bully who thinks he can cow an opponent by calling them scum and delivering bodily ache with navy strikes (“Iran ceasefire is ‘over,’ Trump says, and orders additional strikes,” July 8). However it’s too late. No quantity of dangerous laws, immigration focus camps or desecration of our Capitol can sufficiently distract us. Even the revealing of the Jeffrey Epstein recordsdata wouldn’t conceal for lengthy one thing as huge as being defeated in a warfare.
With a bunch of toadies in Congress who received’t stand as much as him and a navy he dumbed down by eliminating a lot of its most ready leaders, the worry is that Trump will probably be permitted to hunt the nuclear possibility as his solely method out of this. That can’t stand. Even when that enables him to declare victory, it would destroy the world as we all know it.

Does our president have any credibility after telling us {that a} peace settlement is at all times days away? Is our present scenario any shock when our major peace negotiators are a deer-in-the-headlights vice chairman and two others (envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner) with completely no credible expertise negotiating such vital and sophisticated agreements? I can’t wait till our president tells us how a lot Iran is begging for extra negotiations.
