    WASHINGTON: 4 individuals aged 4 to 18 had been killed on Monday (Apr 28) when a car ploughed right into a constructing housing an after-school camp within the US state of Illinois, police mentioned, including they had been investigating the crash.

    A number of others had been injured and transported to hospital, Illinois State Police mentioned in a press release, whereas the motive force of the car was unhurt and brought to hospital for analysis.

    Police responded to the crash in Chatham, a small city round 16km south of state capital Springfield, at round 3.20pm on Monday.

    Illinois Governor JB Pritzker shared a press release on X saying he was “horrified and deeply saddened” by the incident.

    “Mother and father mentioned goodbye to their children this morning not realizing it will be the final time. My coronary heart is heavy for these households and the unimaginable grief they’re experiencing – one thing that no dad or mum ought to must endure,” he wrote.

    The after-school centre, YNOT After College Camp, says on its web site that it specialises in offering out of doors actions for youngsters.
